More than 7.4 M Americans are living with Alzheimer’s.
This September, Ahead of Alzheimer’s is joining the global movement to raise awareness, fight stigma, and push for earlier action.
Why This Day Matters
Every September, people and organizations around the world come together for World Alzheimer’s Month — a tradition that began in 2012 to give the cause more than a single day of visibility. September 21 marks the peak of that effort: World Alzheimer’s Day.
This year’s global campaign theme centers on something simple but powerful: the earlier you know, the more you can do. A timely diagnosis opens the door to treatment, care planning, and support — for the person living with the disease and for the people who love them.
Memory loss that disrupts daily life isn’t a normal part of aging. Recognizing the early warning signs — and encouraging a conversation with a doctor — is one of the most powerful things anyone can do.
At Ahead of Alzheimer’s, we believe brain health and wellness needs to be a national priority, where early detection becomes standard, and Alzheimer’s is no longer a passive diagnosis, but an active, manageable condition.
Early diagnosis can meaningfully change the course of care and quality of life
